Clear Terms for Ending or Changing an Engagement

This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how Want SEO handles cancellations, notice periods, and refunds. It exists to set clear expectations before work begins and to avoid misunderstandings once an engagement is underway.

1. Nature of services and refunds

Want SEO provides professional services, including SEO, eCommerce growth support, CRO, consulting, and strategic advisory work.

These services involve time-based professional expertise, ongoing strategic input, and work delivered progressively rather than as a one-off product. Fees are therefore paid for services rendered, not for guaranteed outcomes.

As a result, fees are generally non-refundable once work has commenced. Refunds are not offered based on performance outcomes. This reflects the nature of SEO, CRO, and consulting services, where results depend on many external factors beyond any agency’s control.

2. Retainer cancellations

For ongoing retainer agreements, a notice period applies as set out in your agreement. Notice must be provided in writing.

Once notice is given, work will continue during the notice period unless otherwise agreed. Fees already paid remain payable and non-refundable, and work delivered up to the end of the notice period is considered fulfilled.

Retainers are designed to provide continuity and prioritisation of effort. They are not pay-as-you-go services.

3. Project-based cancellations

For fixed-scope or project-based work, cancellation must be provided in writing.

Fees are non-refundable for work already completed or in progress. If cancellation occurs before any work has begun, fees may be refunded at Want SEO’s discretion.

Where a project is partially completed, fulfilment is assessed based on work delivered to date. Any remaining balance may still be payable depending on the stage of progress.

4. No refunds for change of mind or expectations

Refunds are not provided where a client changes their mind after work has started, internal priorities shift, expectations evolve after onboarding, or results do not meet hoped-for outcomes.

SEO and growth outcomes cannot be guaranteed, and refunds are not issued based on subjective satisfaction or external changes.

5. Pausing services

In some circumstances, services may be paused by mutual agreement.

Where services are paused, fees remain payable unless explicitly agreed otherwise in writing. Time and availability are not reserved indefinitely, and restarting services may require a review of scope, priorities, or timelines.

Pausing an engagement does not entitle a client to a refund unless agreed in advance.

6. Termination by Want SEO

Want SEO reserves the right to terminate an engagement if required access is not provided, collaboration becomes unworkable, payment terms are not met, or expectations are fundamentally misaligned.

In such cases, work delivered up to the termination date is considered fulfilled. Fees already paid are non-refundable, and any outstanding invoices remain payable. Termination in these circumstances does not imply non-performance.

7. Exceptional circumstances

Refunds may be considered in exceptional circumstances at Want SEO’s discretion. Any such decision is made on a case-by-case basis, does not set a precedent, and must be confirmed in writing.

8. How to cancel or request clarification

All cancellations and queries regarding this policy must be submitted in writing. If you are unsure how this policy applies to your situation, we encourage you to ask before entering into an agreement.

9. Policy updates

This Refund and Cancellation Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in services or operating practices. The most recent version will always be published on the Want SEO website.
